Description |
“Collepiano” is a powerful and vigorous Sagrantino produced by the historic signature Arnaldo Caprai. It was the latter who invested and intuited the potential of Sagrantino di Montefalco, when this native vine was still little known in the Italian wine scene. Collepiano is a concrete example, which has become one of the most appreciated wines of the typology today , and is a piece of the puzzle that completes the picture of the great Italian reds. With this bottle, Caprai wants to immortalize the Umbrian territory in a liquid photo and make people understand how simple ingredients like the Sagrantino grape can become works of art through passion and commitment.

Vinification and refinement |
It is born from the careful selection of only Sagrantino grapes, which are delicately transported to the cellar and softly pressed in order to obtain a must of excellent quality. The vinification phase follows in which the grape juice, in contact with its skins for 26-28 days, is transformed into wine through the alcoholic fermentation process. Maturation takes place in barriques for 22 months before refining in the bottle for at least 8 months.
