Description VINTAGE 2019

2019, a dry and continental year, broke all records
temperature histories during a succession of
waves of scorching heat! Moderate yields and splendid
maturation characterise the wines, dense and fresh at the
same time.

This is the new, original blending idea from Maison Louis Roederer, created to realize the process of converting the vineyards to biodynamics undertaken 20 years ago. It is an evolutionary Brut sans année, which benefits from the effects of climate change; a tribute to the reserve wines and the best estate vineyards. Each cuvée is numbered progressively, 244 representing the number of harvests made in the history of the Maison, founded in 1776. The blending of each Collection is based on the grapes of a single vintage.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful golden yellow color, very Champagne.
Dense and regular effervescence with extremely fine bubbles
ends.
Broad and deep bouquet of ripe fruits (peach
vineyard, William pear) and citrus fruits (lemon, blood orange).
iodine, smoky notes, due to autolysis and refinement
in wood, add aromatic freshness. Notes follow
of plaster, of slight reduction that allow a glimpse of a
concentrated and powerful wine.
Pleasant attack and powerful, rich texture.
Very juicy and concentrated sensation, as if
bit into a ripe fruit. The material is delicate and
caressing, it envelops the palate but is immediately lightened by the
delicate effervescence. The length is given by a
beautiful vein of chalky freshness. It is simultaneously
of absolute delicacy, with a lightly toasted side,
and absolutely fresh, thanks to a savoury finish. The notes
smoked then take over to support a
rich flavorful finish.

Collection 244 marks the return of the Meunier de la Marne
and of the Mountain in the texture; this gives great
delicacy with structured Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
and salty!
Additional Notes Contains Sulphites
