Description |
Monumental and iconic wine. Undisputed symbol in the world wine scene. A wine that has proven to be capable of incredible ageing potential, providing exciting drinking experiences even decades after the harvest. Produced for the first time in the 1977 vintage, it was the first pure Sangiovese vinified in the Radda in Chianti area. The grapes come from historic vineyards, planted between 1968 and 1999.
From a beautiful harvest like 2019, a Le Pergole Torte that will surely remain in history. In this wine we find all the fundamental characteristics for Montevertine: elegance, depth, drinkability, class. The season was quite regular, with a rather rainy May that slowed down the development of the vines and then a wonderful and warm September that brought the situation back to normal. This led to a slightly early harvest for the company's habits, which began on September 20th, and which produced healthy and perfectly ripe grapes. A slightly more drinkable vintage than the previous one but certainly with great longevity, very similar to the legendary 2016. |
