Venica & Venica
Venica & Venica - Ronco del Cerò Sauvignon DOC Collio 2023 cl75
Description |
On 6 February 1930 Daniele Venica signed the preliminary purchase agreement for a farmhouse in Cero', a town in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio, thus becoming the founder of the Venica family and founder of the company of the same name. The Sauvignon “Ronco del Cerò”, therefore, is a particularly important wine for the winemakers of Dolegna, as it evokes the origins of the winery and is historically linked to the four generations of the family. Sauvignon “Ronco del Cerò” is an expressive wine vinified in steel, rich in typical varietal and territorial scents. On the palate it is soft and dry, engaging and mineral, with good intensity and excellent balance. |

Winemaking and Refinement |
VINIFICATION: Grapes hand-picked and destemmed between 3 and 22 September 2021. Note the difference of 20 days in the ripening times of the various vineyards, due to the age of the vines, exposure and altitude. REFINING: After harvesting, the Sauvignon grapes are macerated for about 18/20 hours at a temperature of 10°/12° C in special containers, protected from oxygen with innovative systems through the recycling of their own fermentation carbon, in order to reduce the contribution of antioxidants. The must ferments and ages on the yeasts for 6 months partly in large wooden barrels of 20/27 HL and partly in steel containers. |
Origin and Name |
Friuli Venezia Giulia; DOC Collio |
Organoleptic examination |
Intense straw yellow. The different exposures to the North, South and South-East of the vineyards give a wide olfactory spectrum. The orientation to the South and the prolonged afternoon sun rays give evident warm and fruity notes of yellow peach and melon; while the colder climates give classic and elegant vegetal notes such as the aroma of elderflowers. Pleasant freshness in the mouth supported by a savoury and mineral vein with fruity returns. Great balance and long taste-olfactory persistence. |
