Description
|
From the vineyards in the land of Umbria, a historic region dedicated to the production of white wines, comes a wine with a marked freshness, minerality and pleasantness.
The 2022 vintage was characterized by a generally cold climate during the winter, which prolonged the vine's rest period, accumulating a delay in the growth phases starting from the budding, which occurred 2 weeks later than the average for the period. A slightly rainy but at the same time cool May, and a summer with sunny days characterized by a good temperature range between day and night, allowed the plants to partially recover the accumulated delay and to best start the grape ripening process.
The harvest of Procanico and Grechetto grapes for Santa Cristina Bianco began at the end of September, continuing until the first week of October, ten days later than in 2021.

Winemaking and Refinement |
The grapes were vinified separately, following the ripening times of each variety. After destemming and soft pressing, the must was cooled to a temperature of 10 °C, in order to promote its natural clarification. The alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature no higher than 17 °C in stainless steel tanks; here the wine was stored at a temperature of 10 °C until bottling, which took place starting from January 2023. |
