Famiglia Cotarella
Cotarella - Montiano Lazio Red IGP 2020 cl75
Description |
Montiano is certainly the flagship of the Cotarella Family, a wine that over the years has proven capable of expressing all the passion of the Cotarella Family, making it known to the world. Rooted in upper Lazio, in Montefiascone, the winery believed in the recovery and enhancement of a territory that historically offered the best wines to the papal courts and the Roman nobility, and has been amply rewarded. Acclaimed as one of the most innovative Italian reds, Montiano is a full and rounded Merlot, rich in aromas and with a broad aromatic spectrum. With this product, Merlot seems to have found its ideal habitat in the lands of upper Lazio, originally populated by white vines. |
Grapes used | 100% Merlot |
Winemaking technique | This merlot comes from low-productivity vineyards, where the management has been more rigorous. Once they arrived in the cellar, the grapes were subjected to a manual selection, which allowed only the best grapes to be fermented. At the end of fermentation, the wine obtained was placed in French oak barriques where it was aged for 12 months. |
