Krug
Krug - Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition cl75
Description | Krug Grande Cuvée was born from the dream of one man, Joseph Krug, to create the best Champagne possible, year after year, regardless of climatic variations. Since 1843, the House of Krug has paid tribute to his dream with a new Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée: the most generous expression of Champagne. KRUG GRANDE CUVÉE 171ST EDITION: THE ESSENCE It is an assembly of 131 wines from 12 different vintages, the youngest of which dates back to 2015 and the oldest to 2000. The rest of approximately seven years in the Krug cellars gives Krug Grande Cuvée 171st Edition a unique expression and elegance. Krug Grande Cuvée 171st Edition was composed from the 2015 harvest, a year marked by unprecedented heat and drought from the end of May until mid-August, slowing the development of the grapes. Fortunately, the rains and reasonable temperatures of the second half of August allowed the grapes to grow in optimal conditions. The harvest took place in the rain between August 31 and September 21, with excellent heterogeneity between the various plots. ▪ To create this Edition, the Chef de Caves sought to accentuate the year's varied and elegant aromatic expressions with reserve wines from different plots and 11 different vintages. ▪ In total, the reserve wines from the Maison's vast collection make up 42% of the final blend, a contribution that provides the breadth and roundness that are essential to each edition of Krug Grande Cuvée. |
