VINTAGE 2016
2016 was characterized by a cool and wet spring. The summer was hot and dry with a heat wave at the end of August. The harvest was carried out in dry and sunny conditions, ideal for achieving optimal maturity. This is the new, original blending idea from Maison Louis Roederer, created to realize the process of converting the vineyards to biodynamics undertaken 20 years ago. It is an evolutionary Brut sans année, which benefits from the effects of climate change; a tribute to the reserve wines and the best estate vineyards. Each cuvée is numbered progressively, 241 representing the number of harvests made in the history of the Maison, founded in 1776. The blending of each Collection is based on the grapes of a single vintage.
Cuvée 241 was not to be released on the market and was to remain a simple test vintage of the Maison. Given the results obtained, however, only Magnum and Jeroboam formats were bottled, a "proof" that officially indicates the Year Zero of this new path traced by Louis Roederer. Exclusive formats for a few lucky buyers who will be able to taste or keep a piece of history in their cellar! |

Tasting Notes
|
Balance, freshness and complexity
On the nose it releases intense fragrances of yellow fruit with tasty toasted, salty and iodized notes. Round and structured, the palate reveals a tasty freshness of limestone, mineral and salt. The palate combines finesse and great precision. If the pinot noir blends intense fruity notes with a silky texture, the chardonnay conquers with its precision and delicate salinity.
