Description |
A wine without compromises, just like it happens in the Sellari Franceschini house where wine has been celebrated for generations; to be precise since the distant 1861. The history of Morellino di Scansano is also written in the furrow of their rows and in the red of their glasses; the symbolic wine of Maremma owes much to the figure of Mario Gallori, one of the founding fathers of the Morellino di Scansano DOCG Consortium. This wine takes its name from the color of the black coat (Morello) of a beautiful horse that lived decades ago, a horse with a strong and indomitable character; after many difficulties it became the horse of the farmer Aligi Gallori and had a special relationship with him. This wine has been produced for decades, long before the advent of the DOCG Morellino di Scansano denomination. However it is classified, it has great body and distinction which make it a unique product often not understood and appreciated. According to many, it is the only wine produced in Maremma that can age for up to 20 years and beyond in optimal vintages.
