Description | A specialty of the Terlano Winery are the so-called "Rarities", special bottles of aged white wines, matured for at least ten years on the fine lees in pressurized steel tanks. What is most fascinating about these wines is the freshness of their youth, an element that makes this Terlaner extremely compelling, despite its venerable age. Due to a dry and cold winter and a similar spring, the beginning of vegetation on the Terlano hills was significantly delayed compared to recent years. A relatively mild April was followed by a moderately warmer and rainier May. The month of June was a positive page, while July was extremely dry and with record heat. These particular climatic conditions are attributable to the fact that the grapes of the various qualities formed with small berries. In addition, in July a good maturation of the wood was observed, indicating a promising vintage. The weather conditions during the ripening period were not the best; in relation to a rather poor harvest, however, the ripening proceeded rapidly and very healthy and perfectly ripe grapes were harvested. Overall, the 2010 harvest was one of the poorest of the last 20 years, but the quality of the wines can be seen and appreciated. It is a wine that lends itself perfectly to long maturation in the bottle. Bottling date: August 18, 2020 Bottles produced: 3,340 Terlano has a terroir that is very congenial to great white wines, and these Rarities are the most tangible proof of this." Rudi Kofler |

Perfume | The bouquet is surprising, and with each new attempt it reveals new olfactory components. Notes of herbs such as chamomile, lemon balm and lovage, are accompanied by hints of persimmon and dried apricot. But in the wide olfactory panorama of this Rarity there is no lack of notes of bread crust and leavened dough, accompanied by aromas of flint. |
Taste | On the palate this wine is soft and powerful, with a vigorous and lively acidity, which however leaves a refined taste in the mouth, ideally integrating the mineral notes. The aftertaste is soft and elegant, but extremely full and deep. |
