Zacapa
Zacapa - Rum Gran Reserva 23 Solera 70cl Case
Description |
Considered by connoisseurs to be the most precious in the world, while less passionate ones know it for its undisputed fame and unique history, Zacapa, the ultra-awarded rum symbol of Guatemala, produced precisely in Quetzaltenango where the Botran family founded the company with the intent of creating a product profoundly different from those of the time when the only rums around were white and no one dreamed of aging rum. Zacapa is, therefore, a sovereign reality, and the very place where this rum originates is the reason for such a refined delicacy. Its territory, in fact, is characterized by majestic landscapes, high mountains, active volcanoes and has very fertile soil, suited to the cultivation of sugar cane. Production takes place under the watchful eye of master distiller Lorena Vazquez, to date one of only 3 female Master Blenders in the world. Unlike most rums, which use molasses, only sugar cane juice, called " virgin honey " in Guatemala, is used to produce Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva rum, and for the fermentation process, which lasts 5 days, a yeast extracted from pineapple is used, which guarantees an unmistakable taste and aroma. This is what makes Zacapa different from the others, only quality ingredients for exquisite products, like this one, aged in oak barrels that previously housed Bourbon and Sherry and obtained from a blend of rums aged up to 23 years . A noble, elegant and refined distillate like no other. |

Tasting Notes | Very intense amber yellow color with coppery reflections. The nose reveals great aromatic structure, with hints of ripe exotic fruit, dried yellow flowers, notes of cream and a light sensation of sweet spices. The taste is dense and complex, enveloping the palate in a unique creamy sweetness, with returns of wood and dried figs on an elegant and infinite persistence. |
