⚠️ Important information on the sale of rare and collectible bottles
These types of bottles come from our cellar reserves or from private collections, acquired through lots from auction houses, wine shops, and merchants specializing in rare and aged wines.
Given the age of these bottles and any storage conditions prior to acquisition, it is not possible to guarantee that the wine is still perfectly preserved or that its organoleptic characteristics have remained unaltered over time.
Before being put on sale, Pierbacco verifies, as far as possible, the provenance and history of the bottle and guarantees that the external condition of the product corresponds to the description and photographs published on the relevant page.
The sale therefore concerns a vintage bottle, offered in the state of preservation described and documented in the product sheet. Any alteration of the contents due to age, previous storage, or the natural evolution of the wine cannot be ruled out.
The sale of this bottle is therefore subject to the “as seen and liked” clause; replacements or refunds cannot be requested if the product’s contents are altered.
Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2011 Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC Magnum 1.5 L – Wooden Case (without straps)
One of the most iconic labels in Italian oenology in a prestigious Magnum format. Sassicaia 2011 combines elegance, aromatic depth, and structure, with extraordinary aging potential and an ideal presentation for collectors and special occasions.
🍷 Product and company description
Sassicaia 2011 is a great red wine by Tenuta San Guido, a historic winery in Bolgheri, Tuscany. A symbol of Italian oenological excellence worldwide, Sassicaia has helped redefine the prestige of great Cabernet-based wines produced on the Tuscan coast.
The 2011 vintage stood out for its favorable climatic conditions, with a mild spring, a hot summer, and a good temperature difference between day and night, factors that favored a balanced ripening of the grapes. The harvest began in the first week of September and concluded in the first days of October.
The wine is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Vinification takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with skin maceration and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. This is followed by aging in oak barriques for approximately 20–25 months, depending on the needs of the vintage.
The 1.5-liter Magnum format, accompanied by the wooden case, makes this bottle particularly appealing to enthusiasts of great age-worthy wines, private collections, and prestigious gifts.
