⚠️ Important information on the sale of rare and collectible bottles
Bottles of this type come from our cellar reserves or from private collections, acquired through lots from auction houses, wine shops, and merchants specializing in rare and aged wines.
Given the age of these bottles and any storage conditions prior to acquisition, it is not possible to guarantee that the wine is still perfectly preserved or that its organoleptic characteristics have remained unaltered over time.
Before being put on sale, Pierbacco verifies, as far as possible, the provenance and history of the bottle and guarantees that the external condition of the product corresponds to the description and photographs published on the relevant page.
The sale therefore concerns a vintage bottle, offered in the state of preservation described and documented in the product sheet. Any alteration of the contents due to age, previous storage, or the natural evolution of the wine cannot be ruled out.
The sale of this bottle is therefore subject to the “as seen and liked” clause; replacements or refunds will not be possible if the product’s contents are altered.
Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2015 Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC Magnum 1.5 L – Wooden Case
One of Sassicaia’s most renowned vintages, in a prestigious 1.5-liter Magnum format and with a wooden case. A great Bolgheri red that combines concentration, elegance, and extraordinary depth, ideal for enthusiasts, collectors, and special occasions.
🍷 Product and winery description
Sassicaia 2015 is a benchmark red wine from Tenuta San Guido, a historic winery in Bolgheri, Tuscany. Born from a territory characterized by complex soils with limestone, pebbles, and clay components, it represents one of the most prestigious expressions of Italy’s great Cabernet-based reds.
The 2015 vintage was particularly favorable: after a mild winter and a rainy spring, the summer offered optimal conditions for the grapes to ripen. The temperature fluctuations in August contributed to good phenolic ripeness and the harvest of healthy, high-quality fruit.
The wine is made from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are carefully selected and fermented in steel at a controlled temperature, with skin maceration. After malolactic fermentation, Sassicaia is aged in oak barriques for approximately 20–25 months, depending on the characteristics of the vintage.
The 1.5-liter Magnum format is particularly appreciated by enthusiasts of great wines for aging. The bottle’s larger capacity can promote a slower evolution compared to the standard format when storage conditions are appropriate. The wooden case completes a prestigious presentation, also suitable for a private collection.
