Description

An unmissable point of reference among the great wines of Champagne, the Maison Charles Heidsieck holds a prestigious heritage.
One of the six Maisons to own the Crayères, 8km of galleries about 30 metres underground ( the suggestive and ancient underground quarries from the Gallo-Roman era today used to store and refine the bottles of wine ). These chalk cellars house several million bottles, patiently waiting for the perfect aging period, a minimum of four years... which sometimes reaches more than forty.

Since the end of 1980, Charles Heidsieck has highlighted the exceptional capacity for aromatic evolution of his multi-vintage Brut champagne, making him a pioneer of this tradition.

In 1987, Charles Heidsieck was the first Champagne house to indicate the year of “cellaring”, which will serve to follow the evolution of the wine over time.

Grapes from the sixty Champagne crus chosen to produce this emblematic cuvée, three are the pillars of the Brut Réserve style:
Oger : (Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs) gives it its fleshy and generous notes.
Ambonnay : (Grand Cru Pinot Noir of the Montagne de Reims) is synonymous with power, structure and fruity notes.
Verneuil : (Meunier from the Marne Valley) guarantees its balance and softness.

Vinification and Refinement

Vinification takes place Cru by cru, variety by variety, in stainless steel tanks. From 5 to 10% of the wine is vinified in old Burgundy oak barrels.
Product of the patience, talent and mastery of the house's Chef de Caves, the Brut Réserve Charles Heidsieck owes its refinement and elegance to 36 months of ageing spent in the shade of the house's cool cellars.

Grapes used 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier

Tasting Notes
TO THE EYE
A deep golden robe characterized by a delicate, orchestrated and persistent effervescence. Fruit of a slow and long maturation in chalk cellars.
TO THE SMELL
The 50% reserve wines deliver an elegant nose: freshly baked brioche, toasted notes and sun-kissed ripe fruit – mango, apricot, mirabelle plum – as well as dried fruit, pistachio and almond.
ON THE PALATE
The texture evokes the crunchiness of a layer of creamy nougat, with plump fruits such as plums and cherries. The softness is given by the selection of reserve wines. The finish reveals amber and vanilla notes as well as a touch of praline...
Graduation 12.5 Vol.
Additional Notes and Allergens Contains sulphites
