Claudio Mariotto – Bricco San Michele Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi DOC 75cl
Timorasso that tells the future of Colli Tortonesi: Bricco San Michele by Claudio Mariotto is an elegant, mineral and long-lived white wine, obtained from one of the most vocated vineyards of the winery and aged for a long time on the lees to enhance its complexity and character.
The Bricco San Michele Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi DOC originates from the homonymous vineyard owned by Claudio Mariotto, located on the hills of Sarezzano, in the heart of Colli Tortonesi. This vineyard, characterized by calcareous-clayey soils and an ideal exposure, represents one of the best expressions of Timorasso, a historic native Piedmontese grape variety now considered one of the great Italian white wines for long aging.
Claudio Mariotto is among the protagonists of the Timorasso renaissance. For over thirty years, he has worked with an environmentally respectful approach, cultivating the vineyards without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or systemic products. The company philosophy aims to enhance the territory through sustainable viticulture and minimal interventions in the cellar, allowing the grape variety and terroir to express themselves in the most authentic way.
The grapes are harvested at full ripeness towards the end of September and subjected to a soft pressing. Fermentation occurs spontaneously at controlled temperature, while aging continues for 12 months on the fine lees in steel tanks with periodic bâtonnage, followed by at least 12 months of rest in the bottle. This long process allows the wine to develop structure, aromatic depth, and an extraordinary evolutionary capacity.
In the glass, it presents itself as a white wine of great personality, capable of evolving magnificently over the years, developing the typical mineral and hydrocarbon notes that have made Timorasso famous. It is a wine designed for enthusiasts who seek elegance, complexity, and longevity, perfect both to be enjoyed young and to be stored in the cellar.
