Description
|
In Renaissance Florence, the Spezieri were the spice merchants. This wine takes its name from the ancient art of mixing together, composed of Sangiovese corrected with another traditional Tuscan grape variety, Ciliegiolo, with small quantities of other varieties produced in the Col d'Orcia area. Spezieri is a young, fruity, easy-drinking wine, to be consumed during daily meals. Due to its composition, it is very versatile in terms of pairing with food, we also recommend trying it after having put it in a cool place during the summer.
Maceration of the grapes for 8 - 10 days with careful control of the fermentation temperatures, never exceeding 26° C to preserve the very intense and characteristic fruit charge. The malolactic fermentation immediately follows the alcoholic one (for 20% of the Sangiovese the malolactic is carried out in barriques) and the bottling is early to capture all the freshness of this product.

Origin |
Own vineyards, located in Montalcino, on the Sant'Angelo hill, overlooking the Orcia river, facing south. Average altitude 250 m above sea level |
Grapes |
Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and international vines. In vinifying these grapes, Col d'Orcia has interpreted the ancient art of assembling spices, to obtain and enhance the complexity of aromas and flavors. Ciliegiolo, an ancient native Tuscan vine, gives fresh aromas of ripe black cherry, all harmonized by the rigor of Sangiovese. |
