Order Notes | Wine available in limited quantity. Purchase limited to a few bottles per customer |
Description |
The company's historic wine, produced from 1971 to 1981 as Chianti Classico Montevertine and since 1982, following its exit from the Chianti Classico Consortium, simply as Montevertine. From selected Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it ages for two years in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels. 2020 was undoubtedly a year to remember in Chianti Classico. Nature, perhaps due to the forced absence of man for several months, expressed itself as it had not happened for a long time. A regular season, with rains at the right time and the summer heat not suffocating, green and flourishing woods, minimal presence of infections in the vineyard and consequent use of treatments, regular ripening and excellent final yield. The Montevertine 2020 seems to us to follow in the footsteps of the best vintages, a ready drink gives way to a sapidity and a structure of great effect. A wine that can be enjoyed from the first to the last drop, in the wake of traditions. |
