The Hendrick's Gin recipe uses 11 botanicals, some classic and some completely out of this world: from yarrow to coriander, juniper to cubeb berries, elderflower, orange and lemon peel, angelica and orris root, with a final infusion of damask rose petals and cucumber. The base spirit used in Hendrick's Gin is a neutral grain spirit at 96.5% ABV. All distillers make gin slightly differently depending on the recipe of their brands and the flavor profiles they want to achieve. Hendrick's uses both distillation techniques with the help of its special Bennett and Carterhead stills. Produced in small batches of just 450 litres at a time, in Scotland, Hendrick's Gin uses two very special ingredients: rose petals and cucumber. It is handcrafted in small batches of just 450 litres at a time, using two exclusive copper stills with a unique history: a Carter Head, of which only a few examples exist, and a small Bennet Still pot still from 1864. It took 11 years and many experiments starting from plants, seeds, roots and fruit to arrive at the final formula. The final result is obtained with a unique recipe. Today Hendrick's Gin is the most loved and requested gin in all the bars in the world. The Hendrick's bottle is inspired by the traditional practices of Victorian apothecaries, who used dark glass to protect delicate and fragile liquids from light, so they would last longer. The bottle's squat shape and old-fashioned lettering and typography are also reminiscent of the containers in which apothecaries would store their precious remedies and medicines. The bottles are made from 45% recycled glass and are recyclable.
