Taketsuru Pure Malt Whisky is named after Masataka Taketsuru, founder of Nikka and a legendary figure considered the father of Japanese whisky. After studying the art of distillation in Scotland in the early 20th century, Taketsuru brought back to Japan the knowledge that would give rise to one of the most prestigious whisky producers in the world.
This whisky is a Pure Malt, meaning it is a blend composed exclusively of malt whiskies from Nikka's two historic distilleries: Yoichi, famous for its more intense and slightly peated character, and Miyagikyo, known for its elegant and fruity style. The blend creates perfect harmony between smoothness, aromatic depth, and gustatory complexity.
The current version, introduced in 2020, has been refined to further enhance the balance between the blend's different components, offering a rich yet extraordinarily accessible profile. Over the years, the Taketsuru range has won numerous international accolades, including the title of World Best Blended Malt Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards and several gold medals at the International Spirits Challenge.

- Finish: Persistent and elegant, with hints of dark chocolate, oak, and slight peat.
