Description

Barbaresco has distant roots. The Romans arrived, subdued the Celtic populations who lived here, cut down the oak forests sacred to Mars (Martinenga) and planted vines. Perhaps it was not yet Nebbiolo, but it would soon become so, through genetic mutations and the games of fate.
Nebiùl was called in 1200 and original documents show it being cultivated as far as Pinerolo, demonstrating that it was the Piedmontese vine par excellence.

Barbaresco is one of the most prestigious wines of Piedmont, and the one produced by the Sordo winery contributes to maintaining the high quality level of the denomination. We find ourselves with a wine characterized by a broad structure, rich and complex in its aromas, elegant and chiselled in its tastes and tannic texture. A red that will pair perfectly with second courses, even structured ones, based on meat and game. A Barbaresco matured for a year in large Slavonian oak barrels, which expresses itself in a truly high-level drink.
