Prunotto
Prunotto - Barolo DOCG 2020 cl75
Description |
Traditional Barolo, Prunotto's historic label, born with the 1905 harvest from the best grapes from vineyards in the heart of the Barolo denomination. The aging in large barrels of different capacities enhances the extraordinary typicality of the Nebbiolo of these areas. The 2020 vintage began with a winter without any particular critical issues, characterized by mild temperatures and little rainfall. The first part of spring was relatively dry and sunny, ensuring an early and homogeneous vegetative recovery. In the months of May and June, the generally rainy climate caused a slowdown in vegetative development, exhausting the initial advance and allowing a significant accumulation of water in the soil which, combined with the not excessive temperatures of the summer, avoided water stress phenomena. Repeated thinning allowed us to regulate production per vine in order to favor an optimal accumulation of sugars. The good climatic conditions in the month of September, with significant temperature variations between day and night, guaranteed the optimal ripening of the grapes. The harvest began on September 30 and ended on October 13. |
