Description |
Pian Romualdo has been produced since 1961 in the vineyards in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. Here the Barbera, favored by the large temperature variations between day and night, develops a marked freshness and aromatic precision and an excellent potential for aging. The 2021 vintage began with a mild winter, albeit rich in precipitation, including snow, which ensured excellent water supply in the soil. The vegetative recovery was regular, with light and limited frosts during mid-April which caused a reduction in production but did not affect the quality of the harvest. Spring began a long period of good weather that continued throughout the summer, where temperatures were recorded without excesses, in line with the averages for the period, with some thunderstorms between June and July. The excellent temperature ranges during the harvest period allowed the grapes to reach an excellent state of ripeness and a good balance in terms of sugar, freshness and polyphenolic content. The harvest began on September 24 and ended on the 28th of the same month.
