Description |
The focus on a name with Greek roots, in addition to the obvious link with the intrinsic meaning that Kudos wine wants to convey, comes from the desire to reiterate the indisputable influences that Hellenic culture has produced on the development of current European culture, with particular reference to the world of wine. Let's start from the second millennium BC when, in parallel with the civilizations of the Fertile Crescent and that of the Hittites, the first Mediterranean civilization, the Cretan one, was developing. In an intermediate position between the Aegean and the Mediterranean, the island of Crete was crossed by a fertile plain cultivated with vines and olive trees. Homer writes in the Odyssey: “ There is a land, Crete, in the middle of the sea, which seems to have the color of wine, beautiful, rich, many men live there, an infinite number.. ” Simply a great red wine that embraces the Mediterranean of Montepulciano and the internationality of Merlot, a wine with a well-defined character. Great balance between tannins and alcohol that gives it a great verticality. Not to be underestimated is the acidity that manages to give this wine an unexpected freshness and a long life ahead of it.

Merlot is vinified with fermentation for 15 days at 23-25°C to extract color and body but above all to preserve the fragrance of this noble vine. This is followed by separate refinement of 12 months in barriques and further maturation in 34HL French oak barrels for another 12 months to blend the characteristics of the two vines. The cycle concludes with a 12-month refinement in the bottle. |
