Black Mascarese

Nerello Mascalese is the king of Etna's red grape variety. It is a light, salty, mineral wine, with medium acidity, but with silky tannins and marked balsamic and Mediterranean scrub tones. Its elegant qualities are enhanced by the mineral and obsidian-rich soils of the slopes of Etna. The wine then becomes sharp, pungent and the temperature range between day and night emphasizes the aromatic freshness of the grape variety.
