Sasanokawa Shuzo is a traditional Japanese liquor distillery founded in 1796 and located in Koriyama in Fukushima Prefecture. It mainly produces Sake and shochu, selecting and processing the highest quality raw materials such as barley, potatoes, rice, sesame and cane sugar. Not to be overlooked is the water that comes from pure and uncontaminated springs near the distillery. The fame of this distillery grew with the production of whisky which however only began in 1946 to supply the distillate to the American occupation troops stationed in Japan.
Sasanokawa Shuzo's Yamazakura Blended Whisky, composed of a mixture of corn (80%) and barley malt (20%), is aged for at least 16 years in ex-bourbon barrels. Sumptuous and caressing, it is a jewel for true connoisseurs, ideal for an after-dinner drink to remember or to amaze guests!
