Talamonti - Trabocchetto Pecorino d'Abruzzo DOC Superiore 2022 cl75
Description |
The Trabocchetto has always had a symbolic meaning and pervades the maritime tradition of the Abruzzo region. The Trabocco (or trabucco) in fact represented an innovation in fishing techniques imported from the Middle East. The first literary traces, dating back to the eighteenth century, reveal how this ancient fishing construction soon became typical on the Adriatic coast. Made exclusively of wood, the Trabocco allowed fishermen to work in the worst weather conditions. The Trabocco is mainly identified as a long wooden walkway that crosses the sea, anchored to the coastal rocks. Long arms or tie rods support an enormous net called “Trabocchetto”. |
